The semi-precious stone Amethyst is the birthstone of February. A variety of many forms of quartz that carries an spectacular purple colour range from a blend of deep violet, red to a lighter lilac hue.

  • Tibetans consider amethyst sacred to the Buddha and make prayer beads from it.
